Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions we hear from teams evaluating Remitiva. If yours isn't covered here, our team is one message away.
What happens after I submit the form?
A payments specialist reviews your details within 2 to 3 working hours and comes back with either a discovery call slot or a straight answer about whether card payouts fit your model. The call takes 30 to 60 minutes. If the fit is there, commercial setup runs in 1 to 3 days and onboarding and launch in 7 to 14 days, so most teams are live inside three weeks of first contact.
Do I have to be a licensed institution to use Remitiva?
It depends on whose money you are moving. If you are paying your own recipients, your sellers, contractors, creators or claimants, you are the payer, and no payments licence is required to work with us. If you are moving money on behalf of your customers, that is a regulated activity across the UK, and you will need either your own authorisation or agent status under an authorised institution. We work with businesses in both positions. Where you hold your own permissions, we sit underneath as licensed card payout rails. Where you do not, we look at which route opens your markets fastest, including Payment Facilitator status within the schemes for platforms onboarding their own business clients. Working out which applies to you is one of the first things we do on the discovery call.
Who am I actually contracting with, Remitiva or FMPay?
Remitiva is the card payout brand of FMPay. Your contract is with FM FINANCE LTD, an authorised payment institution regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority under reference number 815137, and a Principal Member of Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay. One licensed party holds the licences, the scheme membership and the safeguarded accounts your funds sit in.
How fast can we go live, and is there a sandbox?
Technical integration runs 10 to 14 days. Sandbox access and API documentation come with the commercial setup stage, and a dedicated engineer stays with your team through integration rather than leaving you alone with the docs. If you need to move sooner, the no-code Payout Portal lets you send payouts and upload batches with no engineering time at all.
Do we have to replace our existing payout methods?
No. Remitiva is dedicated card payout infrastructure designed to sit alongside what you already run. Card rails are added to your stack through one API, so you route each payout to the method that fits it best, while your existing bank transfers, local rails and wallets keep handling the flows they already serve well.
What does it cost to get started?
There is no platform licence fee and no enterprise suite to buy. Pricing is per transaction, with the model, settlement cycle, reserves and limits defined with you during commercial setup, based on your actual volumes and risk profile rather than a standard contract.
